Maura & Pat – Featured on Washingtonian’s Wedding Blog

Maura & Pat were married in August at St. Mary’s Catholic church followed by a lively reception for 185 guests at Belle Haven Country Club in Alexandria. With their royal blue and kelley green color scheme you know they have personality and it really came through in their martini bar, custom corn hole and escort card board, the bagpiper that lead them to the cocktail hour, and the mini patron bottles they gave to each guest. Zoe one of our lead planners and Amanda an up and coming planner (who I will introduce shortly) did an amazing job making their wedding run seamlessly. Check out their story featured on Washingtonian’s wedding blog here and read Maura’s review of our team right here.

Mary Katherine + Mike’s Wine Wedding – Featured on Style Me Pretty

We are so thrilled to have Mary Katherine and Mike’s wedding featured on Style Me Pretty!  Their intimate wine wedding on Murray Hill was one of my personal favorites of 2011, not to mention we had a rockin’ cast of vendors including the talented Tara Welch Photography who provided us with these images.  Thanks, chica!

Some of our favorite details from MK2′s big day (we call them MK2 since both their initials are MK – how cool is that!) were these beautiful blue wine bottles filled with blooms by Holly Chapple Flowers.  We placed them into two wood wine racks which created a beautiful altar overlooking the Potomac River.

For the reception, we hung clear camp lanterns from the tent (major points to Evan Chapple for his work on that!) and used a mix of wine boxes and cork-covered boxes for the centerpieces.

During cocktail hour, we hung calligraphed wood sliced tags on some twine between trees for people to label their wine glasses. We also planned a wine tasting with sommelier Lucinda Smith featuring wines from Virginia and Finger Lakes, where the bride and groom are from, with cheese pairings.  After much hesitation, I finally had the courage to hand write all the pairings on an old door we covered with chalkboard paint.

One of the most creative guestbooks I’ve seen is this wine barrel repurposed as a lazy susan.  They had their last name and wedding date engraved and had family & friends sign it!

Cheers to Mary Katherine & Mike!

Vicky + James’ Bali E-Session – The Photo Factory

We’ve been a little MIA lately. We took a little break for the holidays and are now gearing up for all our amazing 2012 weddings.  One of our couples is Vicky and James who are planning their cliff side wedding near Uluwatu, Bali at the Edge Villa. It’s an amazing venue and I can’t wait to get there to make their dream wedding a reality. Here are a few of their engagement photos taken by The Photo Factory. Vicky is drop-dead gorgeous in her flowy dress and it offers a perfect hint to how soft and feminine their wedding is going to be against the stunning view of the rugged cliffs.
